WhatsApp Messenger is Testing Voice Calling feature, will launch soon
Certain reddit users have now started posting screenshots of a beta build of WhatsApp’s Android app with the voice calling feature. Reddit user pradnesh07 who posted the screenshots, has further explained that the apps works fine when being used across different countries, varied ROMs or Operating systems.
The new feature is accessible to users only after they receive an invitation from others using the feature. So even if you download the latest version of the app on your device, you will have to wait for someone to roll it out to you or call you. A reddit user first reported the new voice calling feature on his Nexus 5 device running the latest Android lollipop OS.
The voice calling feature in Whatsapp isn't public yet. According to some reports, it only switches on for users if someone with the feature already enabled calls them through Whatsapp essentially an invite system.
