Samsung unveils Galaxy Tab4 series with Android 4.4 Kitkat and 4G LTE
The Samsung Galaxy Tab4 series offers a mid-range alternative to the Galaxy Note Pro and Tab Pro lineup. All three devices arrive running Google's Android 4.4 Kitkat mobile operating system, and come stuffed full of Samsung's usual apps and features including Chaton, Samsung Apps and multi-window multitasking.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab4 10.1 is the largest of the three devices. The tablet touts a 1280x800 resolution screen powered by a dual-core 1.2GHz processor and backed up by a 6,800mAh battery. Buyers of Samsung's big-screen Tab4 will also find dual 3MP and 1.3MP cameras, 16GB of internal storage expandable up to 64GB and optional 4G LTE connectivity.
Samsung's Galaxy Tab4 8.0 is similar, and the tablet also has a 1280x800 display, a dual-core processor and 16GB of internal storage. It's significantly lighter than the 487g Galaxy Tab4 10.1 however, tipping the scales at 320g.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, the Samsung Galaxy Tab4 7 is even lighter at 276g, thanks to its smaller 7in 1280x800 resolution display. While it features the same screen resolution as its larger counterparts, the tablet's smaller display gives it the highest pixel density of the three.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab4 7, unlike its siblings, will be made available in two versions. Samsung will offer a 16GB version with optional 4G LTE and the ability to expand storage up to 64GB, while an 8GB model will come with WiFi connectivity only and the option to expand up to 32GB.
Samsung has yet to announced UK availability details, but has said that the trio of tablets will launch globally in the second quarter. All three tablets will be available in both black and white.
