ReNew Power to distribute 16,000 blankets as part of Gift Warmth drive in Rajasthan

Renewable energy company, ReNew Power, announced that it will distribute 16,000 blankets across Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, Bikaner and Pratapgarh districts to help people deal with cold weather. The Company will do the activity as part of its Gift Warmth initiative which is currently in its 6th edition. 

The distribution drive will be carried out by the company’s employees in vicinity of its plat locations, following all social distancing protocols and in collaboration with the district administration. The initiative began in 2015 as an effort to help the needy combat harsh winters and has over the past five years seen donations of 90,000 blankets across the country. 

Speaking about the initiative, Vaishali Nigam Sinha, Chief Sustainability Officer at ReNew Power said, “Gift warmth is our effort to reach out to those affected most by vagaries of climate change. The idea behind the program is not just to distribute blankets but also to spread awareness on sustainable living and to educate people about the harmful effects of our fossil fuel dependent lifestyle.”

Through Gift warmth, we are looking to reach out to some of the most vulnerable sections of society and help them deal with cold in a dignified manner.
