High Court issued notice to AIC for Technical Education &Technical University
Shimla : The Himachal Pradesh High Court issued notice to All India Council for Technical Education, H.P. Technical University, Hamirpur and H. P. University, Shimla for reducing the seats of B. Tech. & M. Tech for academic session 2016-17 in ITI College of Engineering at Amb, District Sirmour.
A Division Bench comprising the Chief Justice Mansoor Ahmad Mir and Justice Tarlok Singh Chauhan passed these orders on a writ petition filed by ITI College of Engineering Kala Amb, District Sirmour challenging the order of the Registrar, H.P. Technical University reducing the intake of students in various courses to zero in mid-admission season.
The petitioner submitted that College is affiliated to H.P. University, Shimla & H.P. Technical University, Hamirpur and has been approved by the All India Council for Technical Education since 1997 and eight batches have been passed out from the college.
It is alleged in the petition that All India Council for Technical Education on 25.04.2016 accorded approval for intake of students for the session 2016-17 in various disciplines for Engineering Courses.
But H.P. Technical University, Hamirpur vide order dated 01.06.2016 reduced the intake of students to zero after inspection without giving a copy of the inspection report or communicating the recommendations of the scrutiny committee to the college .
