Piyush Goyal felicitates winners of the India Gem & Jewellery Awards 2015
Jaipur : The Minister of State with Independent Charge for Power, Coal, New and Renewable Energy in the Government of India, Piyush Goyal, on Saturday, felicitates to winners of the India Gem & Jewellery Awards 2015 in an event organized here at Jaipur Exhibition and Convention Centre (JECC), in sitapura industries area.
The Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) hosted the event, that recognises and rewards star performers of the Indian gem and jewellery sector, in the presence of Piyush Goyal, Urban development and housing (UDH) minister Rajpal Singh Shekhawat, Member of Parliament Ramcharan Bohra. A total of 32 nomination awards and 5 felicitation awards has given at GJEPC-IGJA 2015.
On this accession Piyush Goyal said that, "The industry of Gems and Jewellery is playing a important role in our economy and also it playing very big role in the 'Black Money'. So we all should be careful to stop the ignominy and abuse of this industry."
He further said that, "As our prime minister Narendra Modi says to make enrich our systems by improvement in so many fields in the country, we will improve the system of the country. But we all have to understand our responsibility for this and then it will be possible to move towards improvement."
Praveen Shankar Pandya, Chairman, GJEPC, said, “The Indian Gem & Jewellery Industry has shown tremendous resilience in the past year which witnessed great challenges. It’s heartening and the same time encouraging how our industry emerged triumphant braving all the odds."
"Few exceptional companies and individuals have surpassed expectations and delivered robust performance which in turn helped in achieving Industry exports to about USD 40 billion. IGJA 2015 is a platform to recognise and felicitate true gems of this Industry,” he said.
