New Delhi : In a hearing today at National Green Tribunal, Justice Swatantra Kumar who headed the Bench mooted an idea to have different working hours in Delhi for different working segments like Govt, Commercial markets, Universities etc in order to ease traffic congestion on roads.

Additional Solicitor General of India Pinky Anand was also present in the Court beside lawyers representing various Government Departments, Traders and Transporters etc.

The Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) who has also filed a petition in NGT on ban on loading and unloading of goods, has supported the suggestion of Justice Swatantra Kumar.

CAIT Secretary General Praveen Khandelwal while appreciating the suggestion has said that Govt must cultivate this idea and work out its practicabilities. The traders of Delhi are prepared to deliberate on this idea.

It will certainly remove the peak hour concept and traffic on roads may flow in a systematic manner-said Khandelwal. He opined that Govt may initiate consultation with all stakeholders.
