Kotak Mahindra Bank launched 'Kotak Bharat' Hindi app

Jaipur : In a bid to expand its services to customers located in the remote regions, India’s private sector bank Kotak Mahindra Bank on Wednesday launched a mobile banking app 'Kotak Bharat' in Jaipur, which don't requires internet connectivity to use it.

The 'inclusive digital banking' app is primarily targetted to benefit customers in the under-banked and un-banked regions, who can access its services in their preferred language. The app offered in Hindi and English languages at present and it would also be available in Gujarati, Marathi, Tamil and Kannada in about a month, followed by other Indian languages.

Executive Vice President of Kotak Mahindra Bank said in a conference here, "Kotak Bharat will enable customers manage their savings/current accounts and credit cards. We selected Jaipur and one other city for the maiden launch of the app as it is the most prominent Hindi belt centre."

The app can be downloaded by customers on their registered mobile number without following any separate registration process. He said that about 30% of the bank's customers use the existing app for mobile banking.

The app can also be used to recharge mobile/DTH services, link Aadhaar number to the account, find the locations of ATMs & branches of Kotak and apply for Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana, among others.
