Petrol price hiked by Rs 0.64 per ltr. while diesel cut by Rs 1.35
New Delhi : The oil companies has decided to increase the price of petrol again on Monday, after increasing it's price on May 15th, and the price of Petrol were hiked today by Rs. 0.64 per ltr, while the price of diesel has been cut by Rs 1.35 per ltr. The new price would be effective midnight tonight.
Petrol in Delhi will cost Rs 66.93 per litre from tomorrow instead of Rs 66.29 at present. A litre of diesel will cost Rs 50.93 per litre as opposed to Rs 52.28, Indian Oil Corp (IOC), the nation's largest oil company, said.
India's three state-controlled oil companies IOC, Bharat Petroleum Corp Ltd (BPCL.NS) and Hindustan Petroleum Corp Ltd (HPCL.NS) tend to move the retail prices of fuels in tandem.
Notable, This is the third increase in petrol price since May. The today price hike comes on the back of Rs 3.13 per litre increase in petrol and Rs 2.71 a ltr raise in diesel from May 15, which came after the fuel prices were hiked on May 1st, when the Petrol and Diesel price were hiked by Rs 3.96 and Rs 2.37/ ltr respectively.
