BlackBerry Ltd added a new private chat feature on its BBM messaging app. According to the Canadian technology company, the BBM update would be available for Android, BlackBerry 10 and iOS devices.

BBM users already know that they can share private moments with their family and friends. They can send timed pictures that will self-destruct or retract a message that was sent to wrong person.

According to BlackBerry, the new feature to the private chat mode allows users to start a one-on-one conversation and their names and profile picture will no longer appear on the display. Before, the names and profile pictures of the users are visible on the display.

The new feature removes the possibility for people to use their private conversations on BBM to make trouble against the other person by capturing a screenshot.

With the new private chat feature, BBM users are assured that their sensitive messages will remain discreet and secret with the new private chat feature since their names will no longer appear on the display.

“Now, the screenshot is useless because no one knows who said what! It’s the closest thing to chatting in person, and I know a few people who are really going to love this new feature,” said Jesse Aris, BBM Marketing at BlackBerry.
