New Delhi : On Wednesday morning Delhiites witnessed the Dust storm followed by rains in several parts of the city, which brought the temperatures down and bringing much needed relief to its residents who were reeling under extreme heat for last few days but the storm made it difficult for morning travellers to commute to their offices.

Moreover, hazy conditions triggered by dust in suspension, will lead to reduced visibility in the city throughout the day. Delhi has been witnessing dust storms for the last two days, which have travelled from Rajasthan and Punjab and Haryana.

Minimum temperature was recorded at 27.5 degree Celsius, which was two notches above normal, according to MeT department. "A dust storm with wind speed of 80 km per hour hit the national capital," An official of the department said that humidity level was recorded as 61 per cent till 8.30 AM in the morning.

“There will be partly cloudy sky. Light rains or thunderstorm may occur in the capital today. Besides, dust storm is also expected,” official said. The official also said that maximum temperature is expected to settle at 39 degree Celsius.

For the last few days in Delhi, the maximum temperatures were hovering above 40 degree Celsius and touching 42.6 degree Celsius on May 9.
