‘DDD’ is logistically insane, visually gorgeous and emotionally cathartic’
Zoya Akhtar the Director of the film has an eye for every minute detail and she makes sure that she gets what she wants for the film. On one side the major part of the movie is filmed on the cruise while on the other hand exotic location have made a great composition and added texture to the film on the top.
It was all prepared before the shoot when Zoya along with her small team went and hunted for every single places where she wanted to shoot.
Zoya knew about her vision for the film and she said, "Only excel could have pulled this off - can you imagine the whole crew is in a new country every day. That is what it is like to be on a cruise ship in the Mediterranean. It was logistically insane, visually gorgeous and emotionally cathartic. I don't think anyone will ever forget this shoot."
Zoya picked out best locations in Turkey such as, Antalya, Cappadocia, Istanbul and they also shot in places such as Taksim Square, Galata Street, Eminonu Promenade. This all became possible with the help of excellent and never tiring production team who acquired permissions much in advance to ensure everything goes smoothly.
The Co-Producer of the film Ritesh Sidhwani also commented on it and said, "The pre production on this film was crucial and had to planned to the smallest detail as the script written by Zoya and Reema involved shooting on a cruise which was sailing through Spain, Italy, France and Tunisia."
"We only had a few hours on each port of call to disembark and shoot in that city before heading back to the ship. Our production team did a fantastic job in ensuring Zoya got what she wanted without comprising her vision for the film."
