Smriti Irani at a Fabindia outlet Voyeurism Case solved by Goa Police
Police said they have zeroed in on the FabIndia employee who is alleged to have tampered with the CCTV cameras at its outlet in Candolim in Goa in a case of voyeurism, which came to light after Union Human Resource Development Minister Smriti Zubin Irani raised an alarm over a camera peeking into the trial room last week.
Crime branch superintendent of police (SP) Karthik Kashyap said, ""We have identified the accused. He was one among those who were arrested immediately after an FIR was filed." He, however, did not disclose his identity, saying investigations were still on. The four men were arrested by Calangute police on the evening of April 3, within hours of Irani raising an alarm about a CCTV camera recording her in the trial room. The four were released the following day on conditional bail.

A charge sheet would be filed soon, police said. The offender, Crime Branch sources said, was one of the four FabIndia employees - Prashant Naik, Karim Lakhani, Raju Payanche and Paresh Bhagat, who were initially arrested and later granted bail. Crime Branch Superintendent of Police, Karthik Kashyap confirmed that they had “solved the case” and “zeroed in” on the person believed to be the culprit.
Another senior police official said police have zeroed in on Paresh Bhagat who had password of the DVR (Digital Video Recording) room of the outlet.
Meanwhile, seven FabIndia officials, including the MD and CEO, were on Thursday granted interim bail till April 23 by a local court, which however, ordered them to remain present before the Crime Branch for inquiry.
Union HRD Minister Smriti Irani, who was shopping at the leading ethnic apparel brand's outlet on April 3, had raised an alarm after she spotted a CCTV camera pointing towards the change room.
