Mahira Khan making Bollywood debut as 'Raees' opposite Shah Rukh Khan

Mumbai : Pakistani actress Mahira Khan who is best known for her role in 'Humsafar' which helped re-establish the popularity of Pakistani-made shows in Pakistan, is reportedly making her Bollywood debut with Rahul Dholakia’s ‘Raees’, starring opposite superstar Shahrukh Khan.

'Raees' is an upcoming action-thriller movie, directed by Rahul Dholakia and produced by Farhan Akhtar, Ritesh Sidhwani and Gauri Khan. The film stars Shah Rukh Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in lead roles. Mahira Khan plays the lead female role. The the film tells the story of a bootlegger whose business is thwarted by a tough policeman.

Mahira and Shah Rukh have kick-started the shoot. Both the stars completed their first day of shoot amidst much excitement. The experience seemed overwhelming for Mahira, who was a bundle of nerves at the shoot.

Talking about it Mahira said on Twitter, she wrote in a tweet, "My nerves weren't being kind, but @iamsrk was.. !Got through the first scene.. #Raees."

Mahira shared that she was uncomfortable before shooting the scene, but Khan made her comfortable. Shahrukh Khan is allegedly playing an underworld don in the film, while Mahira will be shown as a Muslim girl.
