Mumbai : Sportingly individual, powerfully attractive, sustainably pioneering, the BMW i8 was launched in India on February 18, 2015, at NSIC, Mumbai. The most progressive sports car of its time was launched at an exclusive event in Mumbai.
The cricket legend Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar drove the car on a specially-built ramp, right after the guests had been enthralled by a dazzling laser display.
With the launch, BMW Group India introduced the new sub-brand BMWi in the country as well as its model i8, which is being pegged as the most progressive sports car of its time.
In India, BMW has put an ex-showroom price tag of Rs 2.29 crore on the i8, and will sell it exclusively through BMW i-dealers in Mumbai, Chennai and New Delhi.
