Panchayat Election Rajasthan : BJP 114 and Congress has won 75 seats

Jaipur : Panchayati Raj institutions's local body polls of members to the District Council Panchayat Samiti counting has been started on the district headquarters and results have started to come. According to sources the Bhartiya Janta Party has won 114 Panchayat Samiti seats while Congress has won 75 out of 6,236 seats in 33 districts.

according to the state Election Commission, "BJP leading in local body polls 24 Independents also won the Panchayat Samiti polls."

BJP won 17 wards and Congress 11 out of total 1,014 Zila Parishad wards. Counting of votes for Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samiti polls, which were held in three phases in Rajasthan, began at 8 AM at all the 33 district headquarters amid tight security.

Noteworthy that 3 crore and 27 lakh voters of State voted in three phases for 7225 members of 33 district councils and 295 Panchayat Samiti.
