Odysee would be shutting following February 23 to join Google+

Manila-Philippines : The 'Odysee' app, which is used for backing up images on smartphones to desktop, has reportedly acquired by Google. Following the deal, Odysee announced on its homepage that it would be shutting down its services following February 23 to join the Google+ team.

The Odysee team says the acquisition aims to provide users 'the easiest way for everyone to capture unlimited memories and access them everywhere.' The acquisition was announced on the Odysee website, noting that the Odysee team would join the Google+ team. Here’s the full post by Odysee :

"Our deepest thanks to every one of our users. To help you with the transition, the Odysee service will continue till Feb 23rd and soon after that all your photos and videos will be available as a downloadable archive."

While how Odysee will be integrated is not known yet, it is safe to assume that the Odysee team would be working to bolster photo sharing features on Google+.
