Legendary Malayalam Cinematographer-director A. Vincent passes away

Chennai : The 86 years old legendary cinematographer- filmmaker Aloysisus Vincent died at a private hospital here today morning around 11 AM. He breathed his last at the age of 86, suffering from pneumonia and he was admitted in hospital for chest congestion two day back.

The legendary multilingual director is survived by wife, two sons and two daughters. Both son Ajayan Vincent and Jayanan Vincent are successful cinematographers in South India.

Vincent started his career as a studio boy in Gemini Studio in Chennai and went to emerge as one of the most respected cinematographers in the country. He worked for many Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi films. 

Notable films are Adavi Ramudu, Nari Nari Naduma Murari, Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari, Major Chandrakanth, Annamayya etc.

He directed over 30 films and was awarded the honorary membership in the esteemed Indian Society of Cinematographers in 2003.
