Ayushmann and Bhumi shot in Haridwar for 'Dum Laga Ke Haisha'

Ayushmann and Bhumi, Dum Laga Ke Haisha, Haridwar, shooting in haridwar
Haridwar : Director Maneesh Sharma, who recently turned producer with Yash Raj Films for 'Dum Laga Ke Haisha', has always explored new territories for his films. His earlier films 'Band Baja Baarat' and 'Shudh Desi Romance' were set in Delhi and Jaipur respectively.

This time, he has decided to set the Ayushmann Khurrana-Bhumi Pednekar film in Haridwar and Rishikesh. Ayushmann and Bhumi are currently shooting in Rishikesh. Maneesh Sharma has a good understanding of small town sensibilities and has endearing characters in his films. The entire film is shot in Haridwar and it is in fact the first bollywood film to be entirely shot there.

Haridwar gives an authentic feel to the movie and is integral to the story. It imparts its flavour to the film and almost feels like a character.

“After wrapping up the scene, Ayushmann along with Bhumi walked through the crazy crowd. While Bhumi being a newcomer faced no problems, the locals in order to catch the glimpse of their favourite actor Ayushmann, almost mobbed him. The guards however, came to his rescue,” the sources close to the film reveal.

Ayushmann otherwise, is totally bowled over by the city. “I feel one with this city. I feel one with self. Can stay here forever. Probably run a radio station for Rishikesh next to the Ganga, feels Ayushmann (sic),” tweeted his brother Aparshakti Khurrana, a radio jockey some days ago.

Dum Laga Ke Haisha is an endearing story of Prem and his oversized and mismatched wife Sandhya who struggles to find love and acceptance. Directed by Sharat Katariya, it is scheduled to release on 27th February, 2015.
