'I' had a bumper opening weekend with 100 crore in 3 day

Chennai : Filmmaker Shankar’s Tamil magnum opus 'I' ( Indian Tamil romantic action thriller film), has had a bumper opening weekend with the movie raking in a whopping 100 crore in three days despite the controversies and mixed reviews.

According to trade analysts, the film has managed to do quite well outside Tamil Nadu as well and reports claim that the movie has managed to set new records for a Tamil film in Kerala. The film has done quite well in Andhra Pradesh as well.

“On release day, the Telugu version collected nearly 9 crore, which is exceptional for a dubbed film,” according to trade analyst Trinath while the Hindi dubbed version of the film has raked in 6 crore since its release. Starring Vikram, 'I' also features Amy Jackson and Upen Patel in important roles.
