Shriram Pistons to reach 70% production by month end

Alwar : Shriram Piston and Rings Limited plant at Pathredi is heading towards normal production. Rajasthan Government had issued 10K order banning the strike post the sit-in-strike in April. Company resumed operations in the first week of May and more than 600 striking workers have resumed their job and the number is increasing on a daily basis.

According to a senior company official, the plant is working towards reaching 70 percent production capacity by July end. The increase in production has also been intimated to the concerned department of the state government.

The senior company official also added that some of the workers who have resumed work have been with us since we started operations in Pathredi. There has also been an increase in emotional bonding with the workers. The target is to achieve normal production level by the end of this month.

Last week by organizing a family lunch for the workers and their families the company had shown an incredible gesture. The company’s recent endeavor towards reaching out to the workers is being viewed as a source of inspiration for the remaining that is on strike to resume duty.

According to one of the workers who have resumed work, “Personally I have no complaint against the company. I joined the strike by believing a group of workers who were terminated by the company because of their bad behavior. Now I have come back to my job and I must say that the company has shown a friendly behavior towards us. I am sure; soon other will also join work.”

According to sources, the company has restructured its Grievance Cell to reach out to every worker and this activity is being monitored by the top management.
