Shaukat Khan gave ten Lakhs for welfare of workers to FWICE

Mumbai : Shaukat and Iqbal Khan son of Late Mehboob Khan donated Ten Lakhs for welfare of workers to Dharmesh Tiwari, President of FWICE,Dilip Pithva, Secretary, Kamlesh Pandey, Bhushan Chawla at their studio in Bandra.

They told media that they to support these workers as they are backbone of film industry and our father Mehboob khan started his career as worker in Mumbai in 1927 Producer director Sajid Nadiadwala and Dolly Bindra came for this event.

Mehboob Khan acted as an actor in silent film 'Ali Baba And Challis Chor' in 1927, after that he got some important roles, and by 1931 he was getting 60 Rupees per month playing villain for Sagar Movietone.

Mehboob Khan turned director in 1935 with film 'Judgement of Allah'. In 1942, he established his own production unit and produced and directed 'Najma'. Then came 'Takdeer Humayun', 'Anmol Ghadi', 'Elaan', 'Andaz' and 'Aan', 'Mother India' was the 19th film in 30 years of his film career.

'Mother India' a classic, was nominated for the Oscar too. He started Mehboob Studio in Bandra in 1954. He was 56 when he died in 1964.
